App Critique Overview

Disclaimer

The redesign was done without knowing the project constraints and business decisions

I started using this app because I began working out.  I've faced some difficulties using the app, took some notes, and thought, What if I came up with some ideas to improve this app?

The app lacks of consistency throughout it, making usability difficult

Enhance users' experience by using heuristics, helping them to have smooth navigation,  find themselves across the app, and know how to recover from unexpected behavior from the app

Context

Problem

Proposal

Error Feedback

Problem

The current app doesn't have an error feedback, using a standard feedback.

Proposal

My suggestions for this part is: don't let this type of error appear for users. A 404 message would be better, explaining what happened and how users can recover from this error.

Consistency issues

Problem

One example of consistency issues across the app is "My Unit", but when clicking it, it lands in My Club. The difference can be considered small, but it can confuse users in the same way.

Proposal

At this page, my proposal is simple: using the same terminology throughout the app, don't change it from one place to another.

Terminology commonly used

Problem

At this page, the word "Portfolio" is used to refer to the credit cards storage, (the credit cards you have entered).

Proposal

My recommendation is to change it to "My Wallet" or 'Wallet", because it is a terminology more commonly associated with credit card storage.

Hierarchy

Problem

At the timeline page, I think the cards hierarchy is not well-structured.

Proposal

My suggestions is to move the "see more" button to the top and place the date/hour information underneath the person's name. Something cleaner.

Consistency issues

Problem

When opening the gym dropdown, users see just a name of the

gym, but the modal doesn't have a title.

Proposal

My suggestion  is to add a title to guide users from where they are and remove the radio button. When user has more than one gym related, it shows the radio button to select.

Empty State

Problem

When opening the observation modal, we can see an empty box with no information.

Proposal

My proposal is to add an empty state illustration and auxiliar text to help users understand the situation.

Editing information

Problem

To edit information, it is necessary to click the item first and then go to the top to edit.

Proposal

My proposal is to move the edit and confirm buttons to the exercise card, so once clicked, you have the option to edit or mark as complete. With this change, we can save space and add a title for items in the dark part.

Editing information

Problem

When clicking on the edit button, the page below opens. The user has information about the workout and can edit information, but only the weight.

Proposal

My proposal is to move the edit button in front of the item that is enabled to edit, since users can edit only this item.

Customer Effort Score

Problem

Across the pages, we have options such as close on the right-hand side, but in this modal, it is on the left-hand side.

Proposal

My proposal for this modal is to make it smaller, move the close button to the right-hand side, add text into the buttons, and instead of a button for 'don't show again,' use a checkbox for 'don't show this message again.
